Encrypted, off-site, automatic and audit-proof

Cloud Backup

Protect your valuable business data in a compliant way! With our cloud backup for businesses, you get a GDPR-compliant, audit-proof, off-site solution for a robust backup of your sensitive data, operating systems and programs.

A cloud backup is a backup copy of your business data stored in a data center.

A backup is a copy of your business data and your complete system. This backup copy can be created from PCs, servers and Microsoft 365 data. Depending on your needs, you can store this data on external hard drives, a NAS (Network Attached Storage) or in the cloud. Whichever option you choose: a good backup must be complete, functional, performed regularly and — most importantly — stored off-site and securely encrypted.

In today’s business world, the integrity, availability, confidentiality and authenticity of data are of crucial importance. Protecting it therefore requires the utmost care. A proper backup copy of all partitions is one of the most essential tasks in IT, because only a functional, immutable and complete backup protects you lastingly against data loss!

What is a cloud backup?

With a cloud backup, backup copies are transferred over the internet to a server in a data center and stored there.

There are still misconceptions surrounding the cloud. It is often described as something purely virtual, located somewhere on the internet. But that is not correct! Ultimately, the cloud also consists of physical servers and hard drives in a data center.

We are pleased to see that companies are losing their skepticism about the cloud. This is certainly because many businesses are already gaining positive experience with cloud solutions such as Microsoft 365 or are recognizing the many advantages that an automated backup brings.

Traditional backups also carry their own risks: external hard drives can fail, companies have to check their backups for completeness, and the storage media must be encrypted and stored securely off-site. All these manual steps are error-prone and involve a certain amount of risk. By switching to cloud backups, you minimize these risks while gaining a highly efficient data backup!

“A working backup must be stored off-site! We are happy to help you find a good solution for your business!”

How secure is the cloud?

Data centers in Germany are classed as critical infrastructure and are subject to strict security requirements. As a business owner, you therefore benefit from a high level of security measures in terms of data security and data availability! Small and medium-sized companies usually cannot achieve these high standards on their own.

Since our server is also located in such a data center in Germany, the cloud backup is GDPR-compliant as well.

Data centers have high security standards to protect your backups.

Have your backup administered and monitored by IT specialists now!

Cloud backup: encrypted, automatic, off-site and audit-proof.

What advantages does our cloud backup solution offer?

As part of our cloud backup, copies of your data are continuously sent — automatically and encrypted — to our server (only we have access to it) in the data center, where they are stored in encrypted form. We back up Windows systems as well as Mac OS PCs and laptops (no iPhones, no iPads). First we create a full backup, which can usually take a little longer; after that, incremental backups (saving only the changes) run regularly — they take less time by comparison and do not disturb your day-to-day business!

In addition, we not only create backups of your business data, but also copies of the entire drive, the operating system and all applications, so that we can restore your systems quickly in an emergency. Our IT specialists also check your backups regularly to ensure that you always have a proper backup in place.

By the way: the cloud backup is already an integral part of all our IT service flat rates. These are attractive service and IT security packages at predictable costs!

Our cloud backup is audit-proof!

Audit-proof storage also plays a crucial role in cloud backups. It ensures that once a backup has been created, it can no longer be modified or manipulated by the system being backed up (such as servers, PCs or laptops).

For this reason, these clients are not given any access to the backup server on our side. Instead, it is the backup server that retrieves the data on its own and locks it away securely. This type of audit-proofing provides additional protection against modification of backups that have already been created – even in the event of a ransomware attack.

Another important aspect of our backup is versioning. With each new backup we create a separate version, allowing us to quickly access daily or weekly backups. For longer periods, monthly restores are possible for up to 1 year.

The cloud backup runs automatically and does not disturb your daily work.
  • Regular verification of the backups

  • Audit-proof (the client has no access to the backups)

  • Mac OS and Windows PCs

  • Scalable and GDPR-compliant

  • Automatic backup

  • Encrypted transfer and storage

  • Versioning of the backups

  • Fast recovery thanks to backup of all partitions

What types of data loss make a cloud backup necessary?

Hardware or software failures
Human error
Accidents, natural disasters, lightning strikes
Theft, cyberattacks (e.g. ransomware)

It happens time and again that a PC or laptop breaks down unexpectedly and hard drives become faulty or are destroyed entirely. Without a working backup, it is difficult and sometimes even impossible to fully recover data. Software updates and upgrades can also be faulty, making it necessary to restore backups.

Perhaps this has happened to you before: you were sure you no longer needed a file, and a few weeks later you realize that you urgently need exactly that file for a meeting. Backups make it possible to restore accidentally or deliberately deleted data.

Since cloud backups run automatically, you do not have to trigger them again and again after the initial setup. In addition, absences due to illness or vacation have no effect on the proper execution and storage of the backup copies.

In times of increasingly severe weather events, cloud backups offer ideal protection against fire, flooding or lightning strikes. The backup is stored securely in the data center and can be quickly retrieved at any time.

With a comprehensive backup, your company remains able to act even in the event of a break-in or the encryption of all your data.

Your employees can quickly get back to work, and you are in a much better negotiating position vis-à-vis the cybercriminals and their extortion demands. If you are considering cyber insurance to protect yourself against the high costs of a cyberattack, you will find that a comprehensive backup strategy is a fundamental requirement for coverage.
